SPRAY TANNING

GET THE TAN WITHOUT THE SUN

Get that summertime glow without any skin damage. Spray tanning is an appealing alternative to regular sun tanning without harming the integrity of your skin.

BEFORE YOU TAN:

-Shower or bathe prior to the tanning session. Be sure to EXFOLIATE!! Exfoliating is the key step in acheiving the best spray tan. (Pay close attention to problem areas such as knees, elbows and feet.

-When bathing, use a soap that is transparent. White bar soap and thick creamy soaps can have moisturizing ingredients that will act as a barrier and can neutralize the DHA reaction with the skin or can result in uneven, splotchy tans.

-Do not apply lotions, moisturizers, perfumes or anything with oil in it onto your skin before your spray tan. Use deoderant sparingly and litle to no make-up is preferable. These products can act as a barrier to the tanning solution, causing an uneven tan.

AFTER YOU TAN:

 

-Bring and wear loose-fitting, dark clothes and flip-flops immediately after the tanning session.

-Avoid rubbing your skin and hands until after showering.

-Stay away from activities that will cause you to sweat or get wet.

-When the recommended time has passed, get in the shower and use warm water to rinse off solution/bronzer.

-Wait to shower at least 8 hours after your spray tan, however, waiting overnight 24 hours before showering will help you acheive the greatest results. The longer you can wait, the better.

-Continue to avoid bar soap and body washes with heavy moisturizers.

-MOISTURIZE!!! I can't stress the importance of this step. Moisturize at least twice a day. Keeping your skin hydrated is the key to extending the life of your tan, keeping it radiant and fading properly. 

-Avoid products with alcohol and mineral oils, as they can dry your skin.
